Music Ministries
The Combined Choir provides music for Sunday morning worship and special events in the life of the church. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7pm. You do not have to be a member of the church to participate in our music ministry. We welcome all. Barry Black II – is an accomplished musician who is best known for his piano skills. He began studying piano at the age of five and developed his music talents early. His signature musical style began to take shape in high school where he played and sang in the choir, performing around the world and expanding his musical vision to include classical, jazz, and Negro spirituals. He has performed with gospel artists around the world, including Tramaine Hawkins, Kurt Carr, Shirley Caesar, and Vashawn Mitchell, as well as choirs and worship teams in the US, including Jonathan Nelson and Sean Tillery and Changed.
A native of the Caribbean, Denise Barclay is an independent Recording Artist, with an active music ministry reaching souls across television networks of 3ABN and The Hope Channel. Over the past 30 years, Denise has served as Minister of Music, Worship Leader, Pianist, Organist, Choir Director and Workshop Facilitator, for several churches on the East Coast. She also enjoys ministering to the homeless, hungry, and elderly throughout the DMV area. With professional degrees in Mental Health, Forensic Psychology involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. Denise seeks to bring a message of hope, healing, and restoration to her listeners. She uses her gifts to honor the will of God in her life, and welcomes any opportunity to encourage others to do the same. Two of her favorite scriptures are found in Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 37:6-7. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future: He will bring forth your righteousness like the dawn and your justice like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him..”
